Call for Papers
This is an international three-day workshop organised by the EuroCALL Teacher Education SIG.
The workshop focuses on CALL Pedagogy and how this is integrated into Curriculum Development in Second Language Teaching.
We invite papers from researchers and practitioners on the topic of curriculum development, drawing on current pedagogical and CALL theories and practices and explore how these can be integrated into curriculum development and implementation to serve today's teaching and learning needs.
Possible topics include:
- learner perspectives in curriculum and syllabus design
- institutional constraints on curriculum innovation
- curriculum evaluation
- CALL pedagogy
- Second/foreign language Teacher Education
- Action Research in second/foreign language and CALL Pedagogy and Curriculum Development
It will be a professional development opportunity for teachers who wish to update and extend their understanding in areas such as:
- second/foreign language and CALL pedagogy
- developing student-centred curricula
- conducting action research
- implementing and evaluating new curricula
- second/foreign language Teacher Education and CALL Pedagogy
It is hoped that the call for papers will attract both researchers and practitioners who will explore the theme from their own perspectives and allow fruitful exchange and debate. The aim is to promote the design and implementation of curricula based on specific student needs, incorporating appropriate pedagogy, and current theories and practices in second language teaching and learning, curriculum development and CALL.
Proposals are invited for two formats:
1. research paper
25-minute presentations (20 minutes for presenting, 5 minutes for questions) on Days 1 and 2
2. hands-on sessions for language teachers
90-minute sessions on Day 3 of the event, involving concrete examples for classroom practice, guidelines for teachers, and resources for further development.
Please specify which proposal type you are submitting for. You are welcome to submit for both.
If you are interested in presenting at this Workshop, please send your title and a 400-word abstract (including title), by e-mail to both:
